FAQ'S

Who should I bring with me?

I recommend that you bring no more than 2-3 guests with you to your initial appointment. Too many opinions can often be unhelpful and rather confusing! Although I am happy to accommodate more if you want to, but I do only have seating for 4 plus a small stool.

When should I start looking for my dream dress ?

Generally you should aim to order your dress at least 10 months before the date of your wedding.

This allows the time it takes for your dress to be made to order and time to have your dress fitted perfectly to you.

I do find most brides tend to start looking 12-18 months before their wedding date, as that gives plenty of time, some designers can take 6-8 months to deliver your gown from ordering and a seamstress will normally see you 3 months before your wedding date for your first fitting.

However, if you don’t have the luxury of time, I can still help. It may be possible for one of my designers to offer a very quick service. I even have a range of sample dresses which can be bought ‘off the peg’ and adjusted to fit.

How do I purchase my wedding dress?

Once you have chosen ‘the one’, I will take your measurements and you will then pay a 50% initial payment to secure your order and enable me to place your dress on order with the designer. I will contact you as soon as your dress arrives and agree an appointment for you to come and try it on. The final balance is due within 14 days of the arrival of the dress.

When should I make my appointment and how long will it last?

Typically, your initial appointment will last around 1-2 hrs

This allows plenty of time for your personal consultation, for me to get to know you and understand what you are looking for, before trying on my gorgeous dresses.

Saturday appointments are the most popular, so I recommend you book your appointment as far in advance as possible. I am open Monday- Saturday 9am-7pm but I can also accommodate evenings and Sunday appointments by request.

What happens with regards to fitting and alterations?

I have a couple of seamstresses that work independently who I recommend that are local to me for my brides. They are both highly experienced in wedding dress alterations and will ensure that your dress fits you to perfection.  Usually you need 2-3 fittings. Please note that the cost of your alterations is not included in the price of your dress. It is essential that you take with you the shoes and underwear you intend to wear on your wedding day to your fittings.

What happens when my dress arrives, can I leave it with you for storage ?

When your gown arrives I offer free storage up until your seamstress appointment or you are welcome to take it away with you.

Will my gown be steamed ready for my wedding ?

Yes !! your gown will need to go to the seamstress for alterations, most brides bring it back to myself after alterations, where it will be steamed  ready for your wedding.
